Now Hiring: Distribution Designers

McLean Engineering is seeking to hire distribution line designers for upcoming projects.  Distribution Designers will work on electric utility distribution projects.  Work will include field surveying, drafting with AutoCAD and/or utility proprietary design system, line layout/routing, and completion of required design calculations.

Project types will include design of overhead and underground electric distribution lines.  Designer will work under the supervision of a senior designer and/or engineer.

This position requires dedication to following safe working practices and a drug test.

Qualifications:

Experience in the design of electrical network distribution preferred.

Demonstrated working knowledge of electrical distribution theory and familiarity with the National Electric Code (NESC) preferred.

Ability to communicate clearly and accurately in written documentation required.

Knowledge of MS Office and field work required.

A safe driving record required.

Must be willing to travel locally.

Associates degree required, Bachelors degree preferred.

Overtime may be required.

This position requires significant time standing or walking on uneven ground, possible climbing of ladders or being in high places, working in tight spaces and in general, being overall physically demanding. 

Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds.

Must be able to work in an all weather environment.
